Interested in learning the basics of trapshooting?  There is a video at the bottom of this page to explain trap shooting for the beginner.  It will help get you get off to a good start in this fun sport.

The Shotgun shooters of Saegertown and the surrounding area started the Tuesday Night League several years ago. Over the years it has gone by a couple of different names but it always was a very friendly group dedicated to grow and promote trapshooting in the central Crawford County area.  We shoot most every Tuesday evening beginning about 4:30 P.M. (Spring, Summer and Fall) and we are open to the public.  You do not have to be a Tuesday Night League member to shoot in the League because guests are always welcome, so it is a great opportunity for the new shooter to come out, watch, learn and try trapshooting.  All ages are welcome.  Members range from around Nine years to ninety years of age and several women are among our most valued members.

Our four trap fields are in use throughout the year but the Tuesday Night League shooting begins in April and runs through until September.  You can check the full schedule at the Link available on the Home Page.  There is an picnic for all members and their spouses prior to the start of the season and trophies are awarded to the High shooters in the various classes and categories based on their year's average.

There are other short duration internal league and other shoots which may take place during the year so check the club News page to see what else may be coming.

Saegertown Sportsmen Club is also the home of the Saegertown High School Trapshooting club.  These young men and women are participating in a sport that allows shooters to safely learn the sport of trapshooting while being coached by highly qualified coaches.  It is one of the very few sports that allow its co-ed competitors to participate, on an equal basis, in spite of physical mobility problems.  Learn more about it on the SHS Trapshooting Team page on our web site.

Members of the Saegertown League also participate in two other trap leagues with members of clubs in Erie, Crawford and Mercer counties.  During the Late Spring and Summer we shoot in the Erie-Crawford Trap League on most Thursday evenings.  When September arrives, it marks the opening on the ten month long, once a month on Sundays, Lake & Valley Trap League.  More information and the schedules for both of these leagues is available at the club.  Both the L&V and the ECTL shoots may be at home at Saegertown or at one of the other member clubs home grounds so be sure to check the schedule to see where the next shoot will be held.  Just stop on by, get some information and see what fun you can have by shooting trap with us.
