The Very Informal Pistol League is a modified NRA Bullseye format league that has several clubs in northwest Pennsylvania as it members. It offers a way for new and seasoned shooters alike to get together and enjoy using handguns in a safe and responsible manner. It offers both Rimfire and Centerfire classes with an entry fee of $2.00 per class.
The season runs from April through August with the final meet typically taking place in September. The Saegertown team meets on the third Saturday of each month at 5:00 PM at the pistol range.
The season's final shoot has all the clubs getting together to meet and greet one another at the John Holt Open. The date and location for this shoot is TBA but usually occurs in September on a weekend prior to hunting season.
The course of fire is three sub-events of 5 rounds each at 50 feet. The first has a two minute time limit, the second is 20 seconds and the third has a 10 second time limit. The same course is used in both Rimfire and Centerfire classes. Shooters must provide their own handgun(s) and ammunition. Shooters are encouraged to use which ever handgun they are most comfortable with for either class so long as the gun matches the class (rimfire guns for the rimfire class and centerfire for the centerfire). A specialty gun is not required. Use what you like!
Shooters will also need to provide their own eye and ear protection while attending.

Saegertown VIP League scores will be posted here monthly during the regular season April - August along with the John Holt Open scores in September.
New to the fold, is a .22 caliber two gun course which consists of half pistol and half rifle. Stay tuned for updates on this new fun way to enjoy the sport!
